Program Details

Colorado trees and forests are experiencing the “perfect storm” of impacts from fires, insects and droughts, and it’s impossible not to notice. What is the future of or forests? How can we improve forest health and public safety? How many of our Colorado trees can you identify? Hear up to date information from Colorado State Forest Service. Expect to be actively engaged in a fun and educational experience!

Shawna Crocker is a Colorado native who works for the State Forest Service where she coordinates an award-winning, international, environmental education program called Project Learning Tree that provides staff development and curriculum materials for teachers. She has been a science teacher all of her career, teaching science to learners from preschool through college, in Jefferson County, Littleton, Durango, and at DU, Metro State, CU and CSU. She taught science in the Peace Corps in Swaziland and Zambia.
